Open Studio During Maine Craft Weekend October 14th and 15th, 2017

We hope you will visit us when we open our studios during Maine Craft Weekend, Saturday and Sunday October 14th and 15th from 10-4pm. Sponsored by the Maine Crafts Association, MCW is a statewide tour of Maine craft studios, breweries, businesses and events. This self-guided tour features participants all over the state, and is an opportunity for the public to explore the life and work of craft artists and craft brewers in Maine. Visit the website to see listings of participants by region.

This year my husband Wes will be in his woodshop making and talking about his ‘Rower’s Oars’ handcrafted oars, and I will be upstairs showing some white-line woodblock prints and the wood blocks used to make them, my Willy Wires jewelry, some needle felted animals, a few miniature paintings and more! We both work out of our 1850’s barn at 55 Pine St. in Belfast.

The Midcoast Maine area includes several other Waldo County participants; In Belfast: Dina Petrillo/Belfast Bay Shade Co., Jean Hardy Ceramics, United Farmer’s Market; in Belmont: Mary Trotochaud/Everyday Pottery; in Montville: Jacobson Glass Studio; in Liberty: Betsy Levine/Prescott Hill Pottery, Fischer/Barberio Studios, David Holbrook Acoustic Instruments; in Knox: Jeffrey Butler Ceramics; and in Thorndike: Kenneth Copp/Locust Grove Woodworks.

Visit historic Belfast, make a day of it! There are lots of restaurants to sustain you in-between your studio visits. A partial list includes: coffee and pastries at Chase’s Daily or Moonbat Bakery; lunch at the Belfast Coop Cafe or Rollie’s; and dinner at Darby’s or Neighborhood, or down by the water at Nautilus or 3 Tides.
